A Collaborative Framework

The MFA Forum worked collaboratively to further the understanding of the likely impacts on apparel-manufacturing countries of the phase-out of the MFA and to identify possible courses of action to mitigate the social consequences of this, based on respect for international labour rights. ‘The Collaborative Framework for Guiding Post-MFA Actions’ provides a simple set of principles to guide the actions of individual actors and collaborative initiatives.  The Framework provides a set of overarching principles and a guide to roles and activities that organisations should consider as they deal with MFA impacts, whether individually or in collaborative efforts. The Framework covers roles and responsibilities for clothing manufacturers, clothing buyers, trade unions and NGOs, exporting countries, importing countries, and international institutions. The Framework can be downloaded here: English, Spanish, French, German.
